Future Plans⚓︎

This document outlines our long-term intentions. These are not just upcoming features; they are the "Guardrails" that ensure the system stays true to its purpose as it grows.

Design Integrity

These directions are meant to prevent "feature drift" and protect the trust of our users. They should be changed only with deep care and reasoning.

Domain History & Stability⚓︎

Beyond simple undo/redo.

The true value of DMS is a stable memory. We intend to build a system where you can travel back in time to see exactly what you were thinking a year ago.

  • The Goal: A permanent, inspectable record of how a Topic evolved.
  • The "Why": You cannot learn from the past if the past can be silently changed.

Future Capabilities

  • Time Travel: View a Topic exactly as it looked on a specific date.
  • Thinking Timeline: See a visual history of how Reasons and Choices changed over time.

Privacy & Compliance⚓︎

Balancing "Memory" with "Right to Erasure".

Memory is valuable, but privacy is a human right. We must find ways to support long-term learning while respecting safety and laws like GDPR.

  • The Goal: Build selective "forgetting" tools that don't break the history of the group.
  • The "Why": Users must feel safe recording their honest thoughts.

Discovery & Insights⚓︎

Making memory useful, not just stored.

Stored data is useless if you can't find it when you need it. We want to turn DMS from a "filing cabinet" into an "active advisor."

  • The Goal: Help users find patterns across different decisions.
  • The "Why": Wisdom comes from seeing the big picture across many years.

Example Insight Queries

  • "Show me all decisions where my confidence was high, but the result was poor."
  • "What are the most common lessons my team has learned this year?"

AI & Intelligence⚓︎

Augmenting, not replacing.

We will use AI to help us see our thinking better, not to do the thinking for us.

AI Should... AI Should NOT...
Highlight repeated mistakes. Make the final decision.
Suggest relevant past Topics. Score or "rank" users.
Detect overconfidence patterns. Automate reasoning.

Calm User Interfaces⚓︎

Designed for reflection, not distraction.

DMS is a "Thinking Tool." The UI should feel like a quiet library, not a noisy social network.

  • Design Goal: Low noise, high focus.
  • No Gamification: We will not use "streaks," "points," or vanity metrics.
  • Focus on Review: Workflows will be built to encourage looking back, not just logging fast.

Critical Risk Guardrails⚓︎

What we must actively design against.

As the system grows, we must prevent it from being used in ways that hurt people or trust.

Psychological Safety: Prevent users from feeling "surveilled" or judged.
Power Dynamics: Ensure history isn't used as a weapon by management.
No Blame: Focus the system on why we were wrong, not who was wrong.

Sustainable Growth (Monetization)⚓︎

Building a business that respects the mission.

DMS must be sustainable to remain a permanent memory. Our model is built on Value-of-Scale, not on selling data.

  • Free for Individuals: Personal growth should be accessible to everyone.
  • Paid for Teams: Companies pay for shared wisdom, collaboration tools, and team libraries.
  • Enterprise Insights: Large organizations pay for advanced pattern detection and security compliance.

The Business Guardrail

We will never sell user data or use advertising. The system is funded by users who value the quality of their own thinking.

Our Commitment⚓︎

These plans serve three master values:
1. Trust: The system must be honest.
2. Learning: The system must be useful.
3. Dignity: The system must respect the person.

Philosophy

We are building a system that grows wiser with age, not just bigger.
